Margaret (Atwood) Gyurasz, 71 Wednesday, March 18, 1998 NORTH ADAMS -- Mrs. Margaret Della Gyurasz, 71, of 1065 Massachusetts Ave. died Monday at the emergency room at North Adams Regional Hospital after being stricken earlier at her home. Born in North Adams on May 20, 1926, daughter of Russell Erwin and Della Mae Daniels Atwood, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1944. She also attended the former North Adams State Teachers College. During World War II, Mrs. Gyurasz was employed by Sprague Electric Co. Later, she was employed for 22 years by Sears Roebuck and was credit manager of the store at the time of its closing. Before her retirement in 1988, she was manager of the North Adams Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union. She was a member of the Blackinton Union Church and a former member of First Baptist Church. She also was secretary of the Women's Guild of the Blackinton Union Church and attended a weekly Bible study group. Mrs. Gyurasz was also an active member of the North Adams Historical Society. Her husband, Frank Joseph Gyurasz, whom she married Nov. 9, 1946, in First Baptist Church, died Nov. 28, 1989. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Frances Lazarczyk of Cheshire and Mrs. Linda Sarchi of North Adams; a son, James Gyurasz of North Adams; four sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Gillooly and Mrs. Jean Waterman, both of Williamstown, Mrs. Madeline Dougherty of North Adams and Mrs. Irene Wojieck of Adams; a brother, Donald J. Atwood of Rowe and Naples, Fla., and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret D. (Atwood) Gyurasz will take place on Thursday, March 19, at 11 at Blackinton Union Church with the Rev. William Kelton, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
