Atwood, 91 Longtime Wellfleet resident; WWII Navy veteran; carpenter WELLFLEET - Robert Howard Atwood, 91, a former carpenter, died unexpectedly Monday at his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth L. (Clark) Atwood. Born in Marblehead, Mr. Atwood moved to Wellfleet from Marblehead when he was 10 years old. He worked as a carpenter in the Wellfleet area for many years. Mr. Atwood was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Wellfleet Congregational Church. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Phyllis Atwood of Quebec, Canada; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was also the father of Robert N. Atwood, who died in 1987. A graveside service in South Wellfleet Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Wellfleet Fireman's Relief Association, P.O.
