Vet. Rev War. John, Hannah and son Josiah joined the church in 1789 but later excommunicated by the local Inquisition. Settled at F-1-A. Father of Josiah and Philip. John and Eunice Atwood are buried in the cemetery on the Town Common. 2 Josiah Atwood m1 Prudence ( ); m2 Lydia White; Came with his father and brother Philip in about 1780. Vet. Rev. War, and the War of 1812. He was the second settler in the NW Quarter, F-1-A. "Atw boiled rye and bear meat."
