    1. [ATWOOD] On eBay: William Atwood, Civil War Letter to his son Charles, in Rhode Island
    2. R Bradley Potts
    3. I found this on eBay, I have no connection to eBay or the sellers of this material... RBP This Civil War letter titled "Miners Hill Va Nov. 24, 1862" was written by William Atwood of Providence, Rhode Island to his young son Charles H. Atwood. The letter starts "My Dear Boy, It has now been one month since I received the only letter you have written to me since I left home. I am very sorry that you do not think of me oftener for it would give me great pleasure to hear from you..." Atwood tells his son that he is in General Cowdin's brigade and has orders to be in "readiness to march at a moments notice" and that he "shall probably go where we are most needed though we may possibly stay where we are all winter". Apparently Atwood's son is in the care of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Armington of Providence and he writes "I hope that you are doing your best to gain the love and respect of Mr. and Mrs. Armington". The 5 x 8 inch letter comes in its original envelope addressed to "Master Charles H. Atwood Providence RI Care of Henry Armington Esq. Corner of Broad and Dorrance Sts". Both the letter and envelope are in very good condition! Buyer pays shipping & insurance. NO RESERVE! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220398447506
