    2. John, Yes, indeed. However, I want to say that I don't have that connection yet for myself. It is just that I suspect I do because my ancestor's name was Josiah. What do you have? Thanks. Joanne Martin

    2. Dorrice, Would you please send me information on the Atwood family that came to Tompkins County, New York? I'd really appreciate anything you have as I have a collection of 163 Atwood families and am concentrating my searches now in New York State. Thank you so much. Joanne E. Martin

    1. Re: [ATWOOD] Cayuga Co, NY ATWOODs ~1810
    2. Carol, No, nothing on Virginia families. I also have a clearing house for Thurber researchers with about 2065 group sheets, so 163 doesn't seem like very much to me. I put aside my research for a long time on Atwoods so didn't research too long. My collection involves Atwoods descending from Thomas and Abigail (?) Atwood plus some various New England families and mostly I'm concentrating on New York State families now. Joanne Martin

    3. This post caught my eye - I don't know whether I have a Kentucky connection at all, but this is the first time I have seen the name LAMKIN on a post. My ggrandmother was Eunice Lamkin. She was married to Daniel Lee Aiken, and they emigrated from Tompkins County, NY to Warrensburg, MO where he died in 1892. Some of his sons had either gone with them or followed them there, as my father was born there. However, after Daniel's death they apparently all returned to NY. But I have no information on Eunice's birth or death dates, or the names of her parents. Anyone? Thanks in advance. Dorrice Wallis Florida - originally Tompkins Co. 3. Thanks Allan for such a vote of validity....... BUT..... <bg> Although much of my collection is from primary sources.... ie town, church, or family records. Alot of it is from secondary sources, ie family histories, and indexes; and about 25% of the collection is from tertiary sources.... email, letters, gedcoms, and hearsay.... I'm constantly trying to verify my tertiary sources; and spend much of my time (when available) confirm secondary sources. (These are trips to town halls, cemeteries, courts, and libraries; you know..... what most of us do for fun !!!) Often, I find errors in my primary sources..... I transcribed wrong or the town clerk wrote down the wrong information.... !! Sound familiar !!! If anyone wants my sources, please contact me, they are not available on the website. If my source is another person, I will give you that persons address or email.
