    3. A Quick Note on Mail Attachments, HTML, Rich Text Fonts, etc.: Rootsweb, our host, is in the process of adding a SmartList hack that blocks file attachments (including VCARDS), HTML messages and enriched text postings. Just plain ASCII will be all that will be allowed through RootsWeb in the near future. This note is to let you know how it will work. When a poster sends something to a mailing list written in HTML, or with an attached file, the list server will send the poster's message back to them, with a note at the bottom explaining the plain-text requirement at RootsWeb. For turning the html or styled text off in various email programs, check out the following site. http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/listowners/html-off.htm We have generally not had any problems with this in the past. However, Outlook, and many other mail programs now default to HTML, which _will_ activate the new filters. Check out the URL mentioned above if you change Mail programs, or if you haven't yet turned off the fancy text options in your e-mail program, to avoid any bounced posts in the future!
