My own ATWELL ancestors/relatives moved from Maryland to NC to KY, with the move from NC to KY occurring around 1810-1830, depending on which particular family group is tracked. With some of the given names in your overview, your ATWELLs might very well look as if they could provide a connection, but then some of the given names were very common in the past, so that it always is helpful to have some places or regions come along with any name.
