I am tracing Permilia "Milly" and Susanna Atwell in my wife's line. Their children (cousins) married each other. Permilia married Brinson "Doc" Singletary in 1871 and Susanna married Jerome Davis in 1870. Both of these families settled in Jasper County, Texas. Their father was William Atwell b. abt. 1821 in North Carolina and his parents were also born in North Carolina. Their mother was Helen (Healin) Wood b. abt 1820 in North Carolina. Her parents were Joseph Wood and Amelia S. Singletary. Also, Brinson Singletary's (mentioned above) mother was Susan Wood, a sister to Helen Wood.
