Samuel Atwell, Sr. was married to Sarah Ann Simmons. He was evidently 30 years older than she was. She died in 1876. Sarah Ann was the grandaughter of Aaron Simmons, whose mother I believe was Ann Davis, daughter of Elijah Davis who is my ancestor. The connection here is a little shaky, since Aaron's mother was named Nancy, which is a nickname for Ann, so I believe it is the same person, but I'm not sure. If you are interested in this line I would be glad to give you what I know.
