Instead, I believe that he was probably a nephew, or other near relative, of Sarah 'Sallie' (HOUK) ATWELL. I suspect that Henry's last name was erroneously spelled by the census taker and should have been HOUK. Attached is the information I have on John and Sallie Atwell's family. There are numerous connections to my BASTIN family. Sallie's stepmom was Ann Wayson 'Nancy' BASTIN, daughter of Thomas Bastin Jr and Mary W. (Atwell) Bastin. John's parents were Richard Atwell and Sarah 'Sally' Tennison. Richard Atwell was a brother to Mary W. (Atwell) Bastin; their parents were John Atwell, Sr. and Elizabeth ???
