    3. Dan, that is a great summation, thank for sharing and for the detail and research. There is another family that might connect Philo, the Atwells of New London CT, of which I am desc from (twice). It is not a well documented family. Most of the source material for this family comes from a small pamphlet published in 1896, the second from a well researched article appearing in the American Genealogist two years ago, which attempted to flesh out some details from the above pamphlet. The third good source for this family is the "Diary of Joshua Hempstead of New London". Of course Atwell spelled a thousand different ways Nowhere is there a reference to Philo, unfortunately. But again, this family not well documented.
