I am from an Atwell line with John Atwell is the father who was born in London England and came to Missouri. He married Laura Matilda Record. They had several children one of who was my grandmother May Atwell. May came to Oklahoma with her parents during the land opening of the Cherokee Outlet. She married Waverly Robert Allen and the moved to Taloga where my mother was born and later I was born. Hope you are related to us. Mickey

The marriage index for DeSoto County shows Rhoda C. Wood. Children; Mary E Atwell, b-abt 1854 MS and Rhoda C b-abt 1855 MO. 2nd marriage to Esther Wilson in Ripley Co, MO in 1855. Children; Paulser M, b-abt 1856 MO; Sarah E, b-abt 1858 MO; Manson E., b-abt 1859 MO; Billy L, b-IL; Amanda. Would like to find parents of Samuel H. if possible. I have him in 1850 in DeSoto Co, MS in a household other than his father, I also have have the family for the 1850 census and 1880 census. I have not been able to locate him for the 1870 census. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Beason. Mr. McCubbin farmed in East Lincoln Township before he retired. He was born March 1, 1912, at Newt, Ky., to Ovie and Vera Neggles McCubbin. He married Viola Bush on Jan. 1, 1934, in Kentucky. She died Feb. 10, 1979. He married Earlene Atwell in October 1979 in Kentucky. She died in November 2003. He is survived by one son, Don "Chub" (and Barbara) McCubbin of Lincoln; one daughter, Ola Lavera Perce of Sacramento, Calif.; one stepson, Nelson (and Korin) Amos of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two grandchildren and one stepgrandchild; and two great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one stepbrother. He was a member of Trammel Creek Baptist Church in Pierce, Ky., where he served as deacon for many years.
