I am searching for the ancestors of my great grandfather, Emmett ASHBY WHITLOCK. He was born 20 Sept. 1867, probably in or around Augusta County, VA. I have never known where the name ASHBY came from, but have a feeling that his mother may have been an ASHBY. Does anyone know of an ASHBY who may have married a Whitlock some time about c. 1860??
