O.K. folks, I have found two John R Ashby's in the Webster Co., KY census for 1850. Both are married to a Diana. I found a marriage record of John R. Ashby marrying a Diana Johnson, in 1847 (or was it 1848?) in Boyle Co., KY. ANYWAY, either one of these John R.'s could be the one. They are very close in age and both have a child female about a year old. Both, born in KY. I suppose one of them could be the son of Uriah Ashby, because he is on the same page as Uriah and Uriah is old enough to be the father. I believe one of these John R.'s is the ancestor of John Enoch Ashby and son of Enoch Robert. Does anyone out there have a CLUE as to which one was which. Anyone descended from Uriah? Two men with the same name in the same county, the same age, both married to a Diana? ONLY on my research !!! I've even wondered if these were actually the same men and the census taker caught them twice a few months apart? O.K. that's it for now. Just had to ask. Sue
