I am looking for some solid proof of William Ashby's parentage. One source has him as the son of Robert Ashby and Mary Holloway who is the son of the Capt Thomas and either Rosa or a possible first wife. All the info I have on this man is that he married Mary Tebbs (Tibbs) of Prince William Co., VA they were married Apr 1767. They had atleast one son, Baylis who was born in 1770 either in KY or VA... one source has KY but the same source has his younger half siblings in Shenandoah Co., VA, as Mary remarried a Argyle Taylor after William's death in 1773.
