Earlier I was looking for Hopton, Sal, Eng. I contacted the Midmarch List in England to see if someone could help me out. Got a variety of answers (including looking in other counties ............) but today I got a lead that sounds hopeful. It would appear that there was a Hopton that was in North West Shropshire, about 7 miles south west of Market Drayton, between Hodnet and Shawbury. Comes under the parish of Hodnet. Thought I would pass this along. I think this may be where the elusive Thomas was from. I will check the records for Hodnet and area. Most of my family is in this area and may find a connection.
