    3. Hi Faith, Salop is the name used, in England, for Shropshire (don't ask me why?) But, Salop (Shropshire) is in the middle (slightly western portion), of England. It is surrounded by the shires of Stafford, Worcester, Hereford, Radnor, Montgomery, Denbigh and Chester. Myddle is a parish in Salop, as is Hopton Castle, & Hopton-In-The-Hole. No, just plain Hopton (in the current list of parishes. Maybe that was the name in earlier times. I am using the source book "The Library", by Johni Cerny and Wendy Elliott. Hopton Castle and Hopton-In-The-Hole both have parish Registers, Bishops transcripts and Public Record Printouts available. However, I don't know for which years they exist. You would have to see which ones by, visiting the nearest LDS (Mormon) FHC (Family History Center) and then order the appropriate film. To all of you on the list that do not know about the wonderful records available from these FHC's, you are really missing the boat on research. I have used them for years and I am not Mormon. You DO NOT have to be of the Mormon faith, nor will they attempt to convert you. The History Center is open to the public, you just need to find which hours and days they are open. It is staffed by volunteers. The only charge for the service they provide is the cost of the film rental which is only $3.50 per film. Which is, loaned to you to use at the center (where the microfilm/microfiche readers are) for a period of about a month. Or, if you have a computer with online capabilities, use the family search site there. I can find the URL for any of you that are interested. I just don't have it handy since, I use the local library. I hope this answers some of the questions.
