    3. Hi List It's time to get this list working again. I've found some data on the Ashby in immigration lists that some might find useful. The source is: "The Complete Book of Immigrants, 1607-1776" - Peter Coldham 28 Sept. 1658 - John Ashby bound to ---- Daniell, to serve 4 years in Virginia. 20 May, 1659 - Thomas Ashby of Hopton, Salop, sawyer, bound to William Hammond to serve 4 years in Barbados. (Could this be our Thomas ?) 17 Dec., 1662 - Apprenticed in Bristol: Ann Jones to George AShby, 4 years, Nevis. 2 Sept. 1660 - John Combes, yeoman, bound to George Ashby, mariner, to serve 4 years in Va. [The Combs married with the Ashby's in VA] 4 Feb., 1661 - Apprenticed in Bristol - John Essington of London to George Ashby, mariner, 4 years St. Christopher. 5 Dec., 1662 - Apprenticed in Bristol - Joan Halloway to George Ashby, 4 years, Nevis. List of Apprentices in Bristol, 13 Jan. 1662 John Johnson to serve George Ashby for 4 years, Nevis. Nevis may be the name of the ship they are to leave on. But, Nevis is also, in the islands, either Bermuda, Bahama, Jamaica, Antigua, Barbados.. 17 Dec. 1662 - apprenticed in Bristol - Ann Jones to George Ashby, 4 years, Nevis. 28 Jan. 1663 Rebecca James to serve George Ashby for 7 years, Nevis 12 March 1663 Margery Stone to Hester Ashby, 4 years Nevis. 15 Nov. 1677 Richard Leech to Ellis Ashby, 5 years Barbados by Humility. Names of persons as shippers on 2 April 1677 to July 22, 1677, by the "William & John" Mr. Samuel Legg, Master, bound from London for New England. Champion Ashby. 21 Aug., 1677 - 12 Sept. 1677 -Shippers by the "Blessing" Mr. James Elson, Master, bound from London for New England. Champion Ashby 10 July, 1678 - Midland Circuit prisoners reprieved to be transported to America - (from) Derbyshire Mordecai Radford of Ashby de la Zouche ( a town in Co. Leicestershire) 8-23 May, 1679 Shippers by the Edistowe, Mrs John Comings (Master), bound from London for Carolina - John Ashby, Benjamin Thorowgood [You will recall that John Ashby married a Thorowgood and they lived in S.C. for a while. They returned to England, at least once. The son Thomas is the one, so many folks try to make the same as old Thomas in VA, who married Rose --- But, he is not.] 7-25 May 1680 - Shippers by the Carolina, Mr. John Comings, bound from London for Carolina: John Ashby Oh, another thing, this John Ashby received a special award and/or thanks from the state of SC for imported certain plants and seeds from England to the colony.
