    3. I have had better luck with finding funeral records, than death certificates, when you get that far back. Find out the name of a funeral home in that area. Then call them. They can usually tell you the names of ones that are still in business that were in business then. If you use a 10-10 number, it shouldn't take you more than $.30 a call. If you can't afford to call, though, you can still get the address and write. I have found that people are more apt to help you if you are talking directly to them, though. If you have to write, be sure and enclose a SASE. All the info that is on a death certificate comes from a funeral record. Plus, sometimes you will even get addresses of survivors, and the name of the person who paid for the funeral. Penny Gardner
