I don't know how the lookup's work, but I would like some help if I can get it. My father, Charles Ferguson Baker, born 12/28/1918 in Yell County, Arkansas. His father was Barnie Estes Baker and his mother was Bertha Lee Ferguson Baker. My father is not sure that the birth might not have been registered in Logan county (perhaps they lived very close to the county line) He tried (during a vacation to Arkansas) to search in one of Yell County courthouses back in the late 60's to locate a certificate of his birth, but was unsuccessfull. My father recently asked me to look on the web and see if I could find anything. Since you do not yet have birth or census index's on line, I would just like someone to pinpoint which courthouse we should check. Lisa, In Arkansas Like most states, the Birth and Death Certificates are at the State level, not county. The Department of Health in Little Rock is the contact for your father's birth certificate.
