    1. [ARYELL-L] land description
    2. I have a question about geological land descriptions. I have the land description for the land my g grandparents acquired in 1880. With that description, how can I find out exactly where that 160 acres is today? The description is: north west quarter of section twenty one in township five north of range twenty five west of the Fifth Principal Meridian in Arkansas containing one hundred and sixty acres. I know this is near Booneville, in Riley district. The notice in the paper listed Southern Home. (1880). Here is what USGS mapping says about Southern Home: Feature Name: Southern Home (historical) Feature Type: populated place Elevation: 490 State: Arkansas County: Yell USGS 7.5' x 7.5' Map: Blue Mountain Dam Latitude: 350527N Longitude: 0934108W Faye, (Birdlady) found the notice for me of Cordelia Fruin making known her intention to make final proof of her claim to the land to the land office. This notice appeared in 1880 in the Dardanelle newspaper. I have since talked to my aunt, who says that 10 acres was set aside for a cemetery and that my great grandfather was buried on this land. Josepine Dickerson, a great aunt is also buried there. One of my cousins is supposed to have found the graves. However, she has sinced passed away. I don't have access to any data that she may have had. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I might determine just where this land is located? Thanks. Georgia Fruen Aeverman
