She was born September 20, 1906 at London near the site of Arkansas Nuclear One to John Newton and Martha Reed Witt. On January 1, 1928, she was married to John W. Gibson, a farmer and peach grower, who died on June 21, 1966. She was a homemaker, a member for more than 70 years of the London Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and an infant daughter; four brothers, Guy, Everett, Allison and Ernest Witt, and five sisters, Mary Witt, Minnie Wheeler, Ruth Toczak, Annice Rachel and Lydia Hudlow. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim Ed and Mary Kay Gibson of London, AR; two daughters, Johna G. Roedenbeck of London, AR, and Ruth E. Smith of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Audrey Witt, and a host of nieces and nephews, including Bettye Rachel and Opal Parnell. Funeral service was April 24, 2000 at the London Assembly of God Church officiated by Rev. Sam Witt and assisted by Rev. Jerry Schlinker.
