She is a great-granddaughter of Caledonia F.Tucker, b. 1862, dau. of Paul and Sarah. I've been curious about Sarah. If she were a Westmoreland, and your information from the death certificate indicates that she was, then WHO was her father?? She doesn't appear in the 1850 Independence Co., AR with the rest of Alberty Westmoreland's family. But then the 1850 isn't apparently complete because Alberty's wife and some of the children aren't listed either. I have learned that Amanda Emaline Westmoreland, dau. of Alberty and Mary Wilson Westmoreland, married in Independence Co., AR 8 July 1852 to Isaac Robinson. Amanda died before October 1853 and there was no surviving child. That Paul Tucker is in Yell Co., AR in the same general area as Alberty Westmoreland (Chickalah Twp) I would hazzard that Sarah Westmoreland Tucker was either his daughter or possibly his widow. However, I don't have the listing for Alberty in the 1870 Yell Co., AR census and I don't know when and where he died. Do you know if Paul Tucker was married more than once? I ask because I can't fit Sarah into Alberty's family. She is probably a daughter, but the census records on this family are so messed up it is difficult to determine exactly how many children he did have. Edgar, you all have gotten all of the YELL COUNTY LIST interested in your TUCKER/WESTMORELAND folks, so I did some checking in my Arkansas records and found something VERY interesting. Two things actually. One a marriage in Independence County, Ark. for Alberty Westmoreland. Alberty Westmoreland age 41 to Martha TURRELL age 23, 11 July, 1849 by James F. Saffold JP....Bk. B pg 91 (this Martha should be with him in 1850 census) 1850 Independence Co/ Ruddell Twp/Dwelling 1038 Albert Westmoreland age 42 b SC, Amanda E. age 16b TN., Levi L. 14, Lidda age 12, Nancy J. age 10, Liney age 8, Moses B. age 5 I decided to search for WESTMORELAND in the folks living with OTHER families and here is what I discovered!....I found your Sarah Westmoreland living with an apparent widow Tucker in Jackson County, ARk.....right next door to Independence Co. Jackson County, Ark./1850 Census/Hester Township/Dwelling 24 Minerva Tucker age 31 TN, Sarah age 10 AR, Peter age 5, Chester age 4, WESTMORELAND, Sarah age 18, CATHEY, William age 13. Is the Tucker family living in Chickalah Township in 1850 Yell County the family of your Paul Tucker?? Maybe Minerva Tucker in Jackson Co. is related to your Jacob Tucker family. (there are lots of Tuckers here too) I found Martha Terrell living back at home...Notice this in 1850.
