I am looking for information on Elijah Henry STAFFORD who, with his wife Mary E., moved to Yell County from TN about 1879. Children's names were: 1) William Henry b. ca. 1859 2) M. CHRISTIAN, Oct 1895 5) Sarah Lavina "Vee", b. Jan 1875, married Henry Ed McGUIRE, Yell Co., Dec.1893 6) Lilly Mae, b. May 1879, married (1)Truly Grief GEORGE, Yell Co., Dec. 1893 m. (2) W.H.COLLINS, Aug 1922, Yell Co. 7) E. Pinkney, b. ca 1880 8) Clara M.B., b. May 1882, married James F. McGUIRE, Yell Co., Apr 1899 9) Pearlie Clyde, b. May 1890 I would be most grateful for ANY information on any of these families. The 2 sisters that married 2 McGuire brothers moved to Hughes Co., OK sometime between 1910 and 1920. The Staffords lived on Chichala Mt.,I believe. They are still listed on the 1920 Yell Co. census, but have no ideas about death dates. Elijah Henry, known as Henry, was a minister and farmer; I noticed his name as the minister performing many marriages in Yell County. Does anyone have any ideas about what church or denomination?
