    3. Hi I am looking for information about the James A. Brantley family found in the following 1900 Scott County census of Hunt Township #7/7. James A. Does anyone know who the parents of his wife, Mattie Watson Brantley Owens were? From what I can figure form cemetery, marriage and census records this is all I know. James A. Brantley, born November 15, 1858 in North Carolina. His parents are unknown, but according to the above and the 1920 census record, the both of his parents were born in North Carolina. He married (1) Mattie Watson by 1885, probably in Alabama. Mattie Watson was born August 30, 1866 in Alabama. I do not know who her parents were either. According the 1900 records her father was born in North Carolina and her mother born South Carolina and 1910 census it is the other way around. 1910 Scott County Hunt Twp #76/76 James A. James Brantley died April 5, 1911 in Arkansas and is buried Egypt Cemetery in Yell County (Source: Yell County Cemeteries, Egypt Cemetery, Yell County, Arkansas. This cemetery is located near Blue Ball in western Yell County: Brantley, James A. (W of W) 15 Nov 1858- 5 Apr 1911.). After James died, Mattie married (2) John Calvin Owens October 31, 1915 in Scott County Arkansas ( Scott County Marriage Book, D, page 533.) He is listed as J.C. Owens, 46 of Harvey. And she was listed as Mrs Mattie Brantley, 49, of Gravely by I.J. Wilson. He was the son of Dennis Owens and Caroline Phillips. John Calvin Owens was born July 23, 1869 and died 1928 in Star, Oklahoma. Mattie Watson Brantley Owens died September 16, 1950 in Arkansas?
