Ar Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Yell/454 Surname: DAWSON, BARRY, PHILLIPS, CULLINS ------------------------- I am seeking additional information for J. W. DAWSON who was in Yell County in the 1880s. The 1880 Yell Co. Census has a James DAWSON, age 34, farmer, he and both parents born in South Carolina. Members of his family are wife Eliza age 37, sons John H. age 13 and William age 8 and daughter,Ida age 6. The 1880 Soundex lists him as Jerome and his son John as John K. I found Elizabeth J. DAWSON buried in the Carter Cemetery, Plainview. Her dates are listed as 13 Dec. 1841-11 Jan 1885. Is this the wife Eliza, who was listed as 37 on the Census? J. W. DAWSON married Laura BARRY in March 1886. He died in July 1887, where is he buried? Their son, Samuel James Wister DAWSON, was born in Sept. 1887. Laura married J. W. PHILLIPS in November 1888, she died in 1892, buried in the Salem Cemetery. Wister was reared by his uncle, Andrew BARRY, and aunt, Chrissy SUMMERS. J. K. DAWSON, 21, married Delilah A. CULLINS, 17, February 1888. Who reared William and Ida? Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. I need to prove or disprove that this is the same family.
