Ar Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Yell/472 Surname: DAVIS, MAXWELL, LOFLAND, MILLER, MORGAN, GARRETT, WATSON, POOR, REECE, RIGGS, CORNELIUS, SULLINS, MARR, AIKMAN, JACKSON, BARKER ------------------------- Many of the early Foursche LaFave pct. families between Bluffton and Parks, AR who were listed on the 1840 and 1850 Censuses for that area left Arkansas about the same time in early 1852 and eventually ALL settled along the Colorado River area of Llano/Burnet Co. TX. Any information about these families would be greatly appreciated, and I am able to share quite a bit of good information on them as well. These families include: William K. (Billy) DAVIS and wife, Elzira with children Thomas Henry m. Martha FRY (Frie) in Yell Co. area; Edward W. NED Davis; Caleb A. Davis; Benjamin F. Davis; Lucy Parthena Davis; Marcus DeLafayette Davis; and Margaret Melcenie (Maggie) Davis. Going to Texas with them was Mary Ann Reece, an orphaned child of Abihu Reece and wife #1 Caroline Scott who was living with the Davises in 1850 Yell Co. along with 3 older REECE brothers (later whereabouts unknown). The descendants of Isaac D. Maxwell and wife #1 Nancy L. Byler Maxwell, which included: Mary B. Maxwell Davis m. NED Davis in Yell Co.; Solomon G. Maxwell; Isaac Byler IKE Maxwell; James Taylor JIM Maxwell m. Elsie Spillers #1; and later, Elvira Ella Maxwell Parks (Mrs. Jordan Stokes Parks, son of Wm. J. & Hannah Stokes Parks); Oldest daughter, Delcenia H. Maxwell Lofland (Wilburn) went to that area of Texas during the Civil War following the fatal ambush of her husband by a bushwhacker, but she returned after the war until around 1900 when she left to take care of a motherless grandchild in Rockwall CO. Texas. The William Hudspeth Miller-Matilda Morgan Miller family and children, some who intermarried with the early Yell Co. JACKSON family, specifically John/Humpy Jackson m. Emily Miller. Also coming was Warren Barker whose daughter Phoebe m. Robert J. Jackson in Yell Co. in 1848 The John Samuel Watson-Telitha Cumi Poor Watson family and her mother Margaret POOR (Mrs. Wm.--marriage #2, whose maiden name was probably RIGGS) SOME of the family of Charles Garrett and Ruth Miller Garrett found in Yell Co. 1850 & 1860--mainly James Carter Garrett. Merrill Simpson Garrett--believed to be the son of Charles Garrett's brother, Isaac Garrett found on 1850 census. SOME of the descendants of William Cornelius and Permelia Sullins Cornelius. She m. #2 John H. Maxwell (his third marriage), but they had no children together. Some of the descendants of John H. Maxwell, a brother to Isaac D., and John's wife #1--Elvira Byler, mainly THE CHILDREN of John's oldest son, Abraham ABRAM B. Maxwell and wife Melcenie J. Cornelius, Pamelia's daughter, which included Thomas A. Maxwell m. Harriet Marr in Yell Co.; Elvira Maxwell m. John A. Marr in Yell Co.; and their minor siblings--Mary m. Ben Aikman from Yell Co.; Malcolm C. MACK;Viola Ann;John William; Abram M. Some of the other MARRs, siblings to those listed above--Susan m. Cato; and Alfred G. BUD also joined them in Texas. All the MARRs listed are children of Alfred Marr, Sr. and wife, Ann McElroy of Yell Co. AR.
