GLOVER, MERRILL, DERMIN (or DURMAN, DEARMAN) - YELL Co. AR Hi List, I am searching for the family of CHARLES GLOVER. I've been told that he went by his initials C. W. His middle name could have been WILLIAM. His wife's name was MARTHA - maiden name "unknown". In 1885, CHARLES GLOVER was living at IRON'S CREEK (ALY), in YELL Co., AR. On a 1910, Sequoyah Co., OK census, Charles and Martha were both listed as being born in PENNSYLVANIA. My grandmother - LOU EMMA ARMINDA GLOVER - was their daughter. I knew my Grandmother Emma was born in Bloomington, Indiana, on Dec. 25, 1868. Using that info, I posted a query on the Monroe County, Indiana Rootsweb List -- A very nice person found my grandmother's family in the 1870 MONROE Co., IN Census. Charles Glover, 38 PA (Born circa 1832) Martha Glover, 36 PA (Born circa 1834) Mary C. Glover, 15 OH (Born circa 1855) Sarah E. Glover, 13 OH (Born circa 1857) Elizabeth A.(Ann) 11 OH (Born circa 1859) Margaret J. (Mollie) 04 OH (Born circa 1866) Emma A. 01 IN (Born Dec. 1868 - my grandmother) Two more children were born to Charles and Martha Glover after 1870 -- ALVA GUY GLOVER (Born: May, 1876) and JOHN GLOVER. It is not known whether these last two children were born in Indiana or Arkansas. ************* Known Information about the CHILDREN of CHARLES and MARTHA GLOVER: SARAH E. - No information MARY C. - No information ELIZABETH A. (Ann) believed to have lived in YELL Co. AR. No information on who she married or descendants. MOLLY (Margaret J.) married a man by the name of DERMIN, DERMAN, DURMAN, or DEARMAN. They had at least two sons, CURT and ELMER, and had one daughter, ELVIE (or Alvie). Molly and her family lived in BLUFFTON, YELL Co., AR. Have not been able to find any records on this family. It is believed that JOHN GLOVER married a lady by the name of DELIE (Deely, Dealy, Delia) GILLIAN. ALVIE GUY GLOVER married a lady by the name of MARY CALEDONIA (Callie) LARIMORE (or Larmore). LOU EMMA ARMINDA GLOVER (Emma A.) married DANIEL BAILEY MERRILL, on Feb. 1,1885, in DANVILLE, YELL Co. AR. Emma was 16 and Daniel was 21. Emma's father had to sign for her to get married. Father's signature was signed - C.W. GLOVER -- ADDRESS: Iron's Creek (Aly), Yell Co. AR. -- Emma and Daniel moved fromYell Co. to SEQUOYAH Co., OK, in 1894. It was through looking at 1910 census records for them that I found that both CHARLES and MARTHA GLOVER were born in PA. ******************* I have info on both my grandparents, Emma and Daniel Merrill after they moved to Sequoyah Co., OK, but no information whatsoever on the rest of the family living in Arkansas. Would anyone have marriage, land, cemetery, or census records (1880 and later), for YELL Co.? Any information available would be greatly appreciated.
