Ar Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Yell?read=198 Surname: Weigelt, Reiman ------------------------- I am searching for information on my great great grandfather Reinhold Weigelt who arrived in Yell County in 1879. Weigelt and his family arrived in New Orleans from Schlesien Germany (Prussia) in Jan 1879. Due to an outbreak of Yellow Fever in town the family remained on the boat until they decided to head up the Mississippi River than the Arkansas River. Heading west they stopped at Carden Bottoms were they decided to remain and began farming. Sometime before June 1880, Weigelt's mother-in law, Louise Reiman contracted malaria and died. Reiman was buried within sight of a Catholic Church on a hill, the church at this time in Carden Bottom. A large monument was erected where she was buried. Does anyone have any idea where this burial site could be located ? One letter mentioned their land was located near the township of Wilson but another says Dardanelle. Also can someone explain where Carden Bottoms is located in Yell County? Thanks so much for any information. JE Maack
