Does anyone know anything about this family? The were listed on the 1850 Yell county Census, Upper Fourche township as show below. Charles Garrett born 1812 - Alabama + Ruth Miller born 1811 - NC (1860 census 1st name is listed as Bertha) 1. Elizabeth born 1837 - Alabama - died ? 2. Polly A. Garrett born 1839 - Alabama - died Feb 5 in Siloam Springs, Ark + John Farley born Dec 14, 1824 - died Feb 25, 1911, Ark. 3. James Carter born 1841 Alabama - died 1933 Burnet Co. Texas 4. Louisa S. born 1893 Alabama - died ? 5. John H. C. born 1897 Alabama - died ? 6. Joel born 1898 Alabama - died ? 7. Milly F. born 1850 Arkansas - died ? In the same household with this family listed in the 1850 Yell County Arkansas Census is: Isaac Garrett born 1806 - died ? Simpson Garrett born 1833 - died 1814 in Llano, County Texas Isaac and Charles are thought to be brothers. Simpson is Merrill Simpson Garrett thought to be the son of Isaac Garrett. The 1860 Yell County Census show the family pretty much intact with one additional child: Samuel born 1852. Isaac and Simpson are not listed. The township is listed as Upper Safone. I do not know if this is a move or if the township name changed? The family relocated from Limestone County Alabama to Arkansas in 1850. Isaac is never found after this 1850 census entry. Merrill Simpson arrived in Llano County, Texas by 1855. Merrill Simpson Garrett is my great grandfather I would appreciate any information on any of these family members. I am trying to prove or disprove this presently assumed relationship of Charles, Isaac and Simpson, and identify Charles and Isaac's parents? I plan to visit Yell County two weeks from now. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Coy Garrett garet848@aol.com
