Arkansas. I believe her parents to be Luther Mitchell and Dorcas Brinson. According to other researchers, Luther and Dorcas had other children by the name of Francis, Benjamin, Adeline, Lucy and Hiram, born between 1850 and 1860 and presumably found on the 1860 census. I can find no documention of my great-grandmother on any of Luther and Dorcas's records. However, I received correspondence from a great-uncle (now deceased) who stated that his mother had siblings named Lucy and Hiram. The time frame and places fit, but I am trying to be sure.
