Seeking information on the following Smith family in Yell county: John Nelson Smith, miller listed in Goodspeed Biography section. He was born in Georgia on 10 June 1840 and fought in the Civil War there before moving to Arkansas. His father was John Smith also. His second marriage was to Mrs. Emma David/Davis who was supposed to be 1/4 cherokee. I descend through their daughter Rebecca Jane Smith b. 12 Aug 1882 Briggsville, Yell Co., AR and d. 6 Sept 1944 at Briggsville. She married Thomas Hardy Mathis on 10 Oct 1897. He was b. 1 April 1875 at Briggsville and d. 27 June 1940 at Briggsville. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Barbara Lewis
