Ar Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Yell/10540 Surname: Yates, Rhoads, Parker, Wilson, Crawley, Holiman, Hoffman ------------------------- Alexander Peter Yates, Jr.'s father is in question. Ancestory.com says it was Andrew Jackson Yates who served in the Confederacy and who lived in Yell COunty. However, family info I have learned over the years says that his father was actually Alexander Peter Yates, Sr. a Confederate soldier from Missouri who moved his family to the Yell County area during the war. He was born in 1810 or 1811 in TN and died in Gravelly on 10/17/1884 when he was murdered by his hired hand Frank Parent. He was known as "Squire Yates". Does anyone have info on this? Who was his wife and thier ancestors? Where is he buried? Alex Jr is at Parks Ceme. in Scott County but I could not find Alex SR's. Secondly, Charles C. Crawley and one 10 yr old daughter is also buried at Parks Ceme. His wife though is not or else she does not have a headstone as their is a space bet. Chas and the girl. Any info on the Crawley line out there? Does anyone know his wife's name? All I have is Martha J. Charles and Martha are the parents of Nancy Ann Missouri Crawley who married Alexander Yates, Jr. Contact me at rglawrence_rick@yahoo.com.
