Dorotha, There must have been a wagon train from Walker Co., GA, about that time. I am researching the Howard family who also arrived in Yell County about the time your Hunt family arrived. The Joseph S. Howard family was living in Frick's Gap in Walker County, GA, on 24 July 1870 when the census was taken. Descendants have told me that they left soon after the census was taken. They appear on the 1880 census of Yell County. Do you show any Howards in your Hunt tree?
