    3. Hi I Am looking for the parents of Amberson/Ambrose Eligh/Eli Watson, found in Hunt Township in Scott County from 1900-1920 Scott County Census records. His name has been recorded as Amberson E. Watson in 1900, Ambrose E. in 1910 and Eligh Watson in 1920. Marriage record has him listed as Eli Watson. They are found living next to George W. Butler family in 1900 and 1910, therefore I am supposing that Dora C. Butler is a daughter of this family. There was one other Watson family in Hunt Twp in 1900, the Thomas Peter and Martha Ann “Nancy” (Self)Watson family. Is he a son of this family. The 1900 census indicates that his father was born in Alabama, as was Thomas P. Watson. I believe the connections below are true, but have not proven it to my satisfaction. Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks much. 1900 Scott County Census, Hunt Twp #63/63 Watson, Amberson E. Hd Aug 1880 19 M/1 AR AL AR Dora C. 3. Has anyone ever heard of the Barker family that lived/lives in Yell County? Ezra Britton Barker is found in 1910 Yell County census with two daughters, Jean and Lela, and one son, Warner Barker. Warner is buried in the Piney Cemetery in Waveland, AR. Warner died in 1990. I've been told that he had at least one son and a daughter. Ezra Barker's mother was Amanda Jean. I'm trying to connect the two families (Jean/Barker). There are a lot of coincidences of the two families living near each other in Georgia and in Arkansas. Ezra is buried in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery across Hwy 10 (from description furnished) from the Jean Cemetery. Any bells going off? Thanks, Diane

    1. [ARYELL-L] land description
    2. I have a question about geological land descriptions. I have the land description for the land my g grandparents acquired in 1880. With that description, how can I find out exactly where that 160 acres is today? The description is: north west quarter of section twenty one in township five north of range twenty five west of the Fifth Principal Meridian in Arkansas containing one hundred and sixty acres. I know this is near Booneville, in Riley district. The notice in the paper listed Southern Home. (1880). Here is what USGS mapping says about Southern Home: Feature Name: Southern Home (historical) Feature Type: populated place Elevation: 490 State: Arkansas County: Yell USGS 7.5' x 7.5' Map: Blue Mountain Dam Latitude: 350527N Longitude: 0934108W Faye, (Birdlady) found the notice for me of Cordelia Fruin making known her intention to make final proof of her claim to the land to the land office. This notice appeared in 1880 in the Dardanelle newspaper. I have since talked to my aunt, who says that 10 acres was set aside for a cemetery and that my great grandfather was buried on this land. Josepine Dickerson, a great aunt is also buried there. One of my cousins is supposed to have found the graves. However, she has sinced passed away. I don't have access to any data that she may have had. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I might determine just where this land is located? Thanks. Georgia Fruen Aeverman

    3. Janet asked me about my page and WorldConnect and I think she may not be the only person with questions so I'm letting you all in on this information. Putting your genealogy on the WorldConnect is as easy as pie. They will remove the living people for you and they will keep your original file. If you ever have a major crash of your computer system you can get all your original file back from Rootsweb. They also never give it away or sell it and you remain in control. To find out more about this go to http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/ Now making a personal page is another matter. I don't understand a thing about it even after my daughter tried to show me. We finally got my page made by my standing over her and harassing her until she did it for me. <G> My Mother ( Iola Harkey ) always said " Lazy mothers have smart daughters " I think she was saying that I wasn't too bright and now my having a smart daughter may prove her right.
