    1. [ARYELL-L] Grant surname
    2. yvonne henson
    3. HI Listers -- I received some exciting news in the mail from the Yell county courthouse in Dardanelle! First the news then the request. I have before me the marriage liscene of James Grant to Josie Verdin dated November 29, 1914. I also have the divorce decree of James Grant to Allie Grant dated October 12, 1914. (James was one busy man!) Listed in the divorce decree are James and Allie's 2 children Ira(?) and Hazel Grant. They were born 1908 & 1910 respectively. The divorce decree states the children were not allowed to leave the jurisdiction of the court. Now the request: Who did Allie marry and what happened to the girls? Can someone look this up? If you don't find it in Yell county please let me know so I can look somewhere else, maybe Logan county? They should have been in Yell county in 1910 and maybe in 1920. Can someone look in the 1910 and 1920 census or just the index for Yell county and see if you can find the girls I presume with their mother. I know where James was in 1910 and 1920. In 1910 he stated on the census that he was divorced(?) and he was not living with Allie he was living with his mother. I would really appreciate the lookups! Thanks, yvonne ____________________________ Colorado Springs, Colorado reply to henson@rmi.net web page: http://www.rmi.net/~henson Names I am researching: BRENT(S), GRANT, EDMON(D)SON, HENSON, MCARTHUR ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com.

    2. Pat Curliss-Leiker
    3. Posted on: Yell Co. Ar Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Yell?read=195 Surname: GARNER, CURLISS ------------------------- I am searching for information about James Edward Curliss, b. 1851 in IL, married Nancy Jane Garner. Nancy Jane Garner , b. 1856 in SC, daughter of Columbus and Jane Garner. There were several Garners in Yell Co. I don't know if James Edward Curliss and Nancy Jane Garner were married in Yell Co., but their first and fifth children, Mary Myrtle Curliss, and Nancy Curliss were born in Yell Co. AR. Their fourth child, Henry C. Curliss, my grandfather, was born in 1890 in Sebastian Co. AR. My uncle tells me that Henry often spoke of Yell Co. AR, so I suspect that he may have spent some time there. However, James Edward and Nancy both died in OK around 1897-1899. Any information would be so appreciated...Thanks.
