The editor of this newspaper met the then U.S. Congressman C. G. Conn at an Arkansas Editorial Association meeting in Washington, DC, in 1894 and purportedly proposed the Hon. C. G. Conn's name as a possible Presidential candidate in the Dardanelle newspaper of about June 14, 1894. Does anyone have access to Yell Co. marriages AFTER 1900 that could do a lookup for me? I need a marriage record for Matthew James Baxter and Pearlie Clyde Stafford, possibly about Sept. 1905. The bride went by the name "Clyde", so I wouldn't be surprised to find this as the name listed, unless full names are given. There may be a possible 2nd marriage of Pearlie Clyde Stafford/Baxter to a Silas W. Williams. I'm not sure how many years later this marriage would be.
