My great-grandmother, their daughter, Mary Ann Polly, listed as 10 yrs. The 1860 Census of Arkansas, Yell County, Dardanelle Twp., dated June 12, 1860, lists Mary JENNINGS on p. 1021, line #10, dwg. 123, family 123, with age give as 40 yrs. Her older two sons, William and Nathaniel, are also listed on this 1870 census, married with families. William David JENNINGS seems to have been well-known in Yell County, and I would very much like to hear from any descendants. I have some information on both the JENNINGS and the HORNE family ancestors. Would love to share, and exchange information.

Hi I am looking for information about the LOUIS H. HORN family listed in the 1900 Hunt Township, Scott County below. They do not appear in the 1910 or 1920 census, although there is an ELLIS HORN, age 17 living with the ROBERT NEWTON MILLARD family in 1920. Is this Ellis a son of the family below? Is it possible that this Ellis Horn is the ELBIE HORN who marries THELMA N. MILLARD, granddaughter of Robert N. Millard? Is GLADYS F. HORN who marries DEWEY OSCHO JAMES, son of GEORGE WASHINGTON JAMES and SARAH ELLEN HUNT a daughter of this family? Gladys was born February 21, 1904 and died July 30, 1993 in Texas. Is the JOSEPHINE HORN, who was the first wife of DAVID M. KITCHENS, of Yell and Scott County connected to this family? 1900 Scott County, Hunt Twp #37/37 Horn, Louis H. I am visiting Yell Co. tomorrow and the next day. I will probably spend part of the day in Dardenelle tomorrow and maybe not go on to Danville until the next day. I will consider any and all suggestions of places to eat, motels, places to talk to oldtimers, etc. I would like to know which library has the best archives of the Civil War era and just afterward. Is there a limitation on visiting hours at either courthouse? Is there a Cemetery book available at the library? My goals are to finish up on some research done in Danville in December, 1999, and see if I can locate likely cemeteries where my ancesters (Buchanan, Moore, McClendon) and associated families (Holt, Holland, Jones, Prescott, etc) were buried. With the exception of John A. Buchanan Jr. and his wife Jennie Prescott Buchanan at Waltreak, I have been unable to find any final resting places for them. I will be looking into deeds also in an effort to locate the land on which they lived, to investigate the possiblility of a small family cemetery. All suggestions will be printed and considered seriously. If you are one of the people with whom I have corresponded and would like to compare notes, please write and maybe we can make some arrangements. I know I have promised several that I would notify you when next I was planning a trip to Yell, but this happened out of the blue and once again, I am not at my own computer. Thanks for any help or suggestions you can give. Maryann Dixon Moseby

Linda, could you or someone take a look at this picture which we think is of Johnnie Moore of Yell County. He's of the age of my grandmother, born in the late 1890s: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cousins/album/rel_various05.html Also, if anyone knows of the Tillerys of either GA or AR, I have a picture of a George Tillery (possibly two pix).
