This is to let all of you know how Mary Russell's husband Tom is doing, he came through the surgery just fine. Tom was in surgery from 9:00 am to 4:45 pm, the doctor said it was very involved and they had to give him 3 units of his own blood, so all of you join with me in thanking God it all turned out well. Mary would have sent this e-mail but her computer crashed and she will be unable to answer anyone for a few days. She also has her pet Dachshund to worry about to, he fell and has a concussion. I will let all of you know about Tom's progress. Judith Carley

At one time someone was posting obits to this list and she said she had on file some obits. If that lady is still on this list I wonder if she would look and see if she has an obit on Vida Pearl (BRASHER) Davis. She passed away on 5 Oct 1995 and was buried in Moores Chapel Cemetery on 7 Oct 1995. I would sure appreciate a copy of the obit if she has it. If not thank you for checking. YELL COUNTY LOCAL NEWS???? At the request of a Yell County researcher, I am posting this news. There was a theft several days ago of the bell from the Liberty Hall United Methodist Church (on Highway 154 east of Centerville). Said to have been placed by ancestors in Yell County decades ago. Chances are this was a prank, but a chance also exists that someone's intention was to sell to a salvage business or an antique dealer. . . .There is a reward for its return. If anyone has any information regarding the theft of the bell or questions concerning the reward for it's return, please contact Bob Crow crowfarm@arkwest.com, or Robert Crow, welcomes calls with any news --501-576-4524 ...submitted to me by Jan Pool of Texas, she is the cousin and niece of Bob and Robert Crow. -- Lisa C. Hi I am looking for information about THOMAS R. POLLARD found in Scott County in 1900 to 1920. He was born October 1876 in Arkansas. He married Elizabeth A. "Bettie" Hunt July 4, 1902 in Scott County Arkansas. She was the daughter of James Hunt and Mary Susan "Aunt Siddie" Millard. It is said that after Thomas parents died, Robert Newton Millard raised him. Evidently Thomas and Bettie Pollard had no children, but raised two foster children. 1) DOLLIE FLETCHER, born about 1906 in Arkansas. She is only found in the 1910 census of Hunt Township with the Pollards. I dont find a marriage record or death record of this child. 2) WILLIE B. FLETCHER, born September 29, 1908 in Arkansas. He is found with the Pollards in 1910 and 1920 in Hunt Township. He and Dollie are listed as orphans in 1910, and in 1920 he is listed as a cousin of the Pollards. I find a record in Hunt Cemetery listing a Willie Fletcher who I believe to be this child. He died September 29, 1928. I also find a MELDIE FLETCEHR, born July 19, 1882 and died December 31, 1909 also buried at Hunt Cemetery in Scott County, Arkansas. The record says that she is the wife of a R.E. Fletcher. Is she the mother of Willie Fletcher? Who was R.E. Fletcher. Who are the parents of Thomas R. Pollard? There is a THOMAS and ELIZABETH POLLARD listed in 1880 census of Scott County who both die in 1886. There is a son ROBERT T. listed in that census record. Is it possible that he is Thomas R. Pollard. The age would be about right. Charlene Holland
Jo, About all I know about the Howards was what I posted just now. The only info I have on any Wallace comes from the 1880 census which listed the following in Casa Twp., Perry Co., AR, next door to Yell County. I am not a descendant of either the Howard or Wallace family. I was just researching the Murdocks and came across these names as I was working on the census of 1880. If I run onto anything that I think might connect to you, I will get back: 81: Wallace, W. Dorotha, There must have been a wagon train from Walker Co., GA, about that time. I am researching the Howard family who also arrived in Yell County about the time your Hunt family arrived. The Joseph S. Howard family was living in Frick's Gap in Walker County, GA, on 24 July 1870 when the census was taken. Descendants have told me that they left soon after the census was taken.
