Charlene I have some information which may be helpful to you. The following appeared in a Dardanelle newspaper on July 29, 1881: "NOTICE - The following Executors, Administrators and Guardians are required to file their accounts current for settlement at the next October term, A.D. 1881 of the Yell Probate Court for the Danville District, Viz: MINOR - Holland, E.M. etal, GUARDIAN - M.B. Havner. Given under my hand and seal of office this 20th day of July 1881, J.W. Pound, Clerk:. E.M. Holland was my greatgrandfathers daughter by his first wife Elizabeth Buchanan. M.B. Havner is Rev. Martin Berry Havner, born Dec. 29, 1837 Marion TN, died April 9, 1910, buried Waltreak Cemetery, Yell Co., Ark. (Source: Cemeteries of Yell Co., Arkansas, Vol.I, page 196, and email dated 4/24/99 from Vera Reeves - M.B. Havners ggneice). My Holland line, the Buchanan line, Holt line, & Kitchens line, all of Dutch Creek, Yell Co., intermarried and M.B. Havner was apparently their minister. I have contacted the Methodist Church administrative units in Fort Smith and Dardanelle requesting information on M.B. Havner...but they have no information. Dave Holland

Hi I am looking for information about the Havner/Havener family found in Yell County Dutch Creek 1870-1910, and in Scott County Hunt Twp in 1900. There appears to be two-three families at least. A MARTIN B. HAVNER is found in 1870 and 1880 Yell County. An OBEDIAH HAVNER is found in 1880, but I could not find him in 1870 in Dutch Creek. Perhaps he was in another township of Yell County? There were no Havners that I could find in Scott County 1850-1880. JOSEPH B. HAVNER is found in Scott County 1900 Hunt Twp. OBIDIAH HAVNER had two wives, SARAH TATE and SARAH ANN YOUNG. I could not read MARTIN B. HAVNER'S wife's name in the census. Any help with these families would be greatly appreciated. Charlene Holland

Does anyone know if Catherine's books are still available and if so where? They are a good source of Yell County information, particularly the area around Mount Magazine. I just finished extracting (Yes, I know copying is illegal but Catherine doesn't have these books copyrighted.) information for a fellow researcher and realized, again, how much genealogy information was in the books. If you are researching anyone in the western part of the county and can find one of Catherine's books check it out.
