He was born during slavery in 1863 in Tennessee, and we were told that he died approximately 1916 (which is, of course, a guess). However, I need to locate any information that pertains to his date of death. Does any one know where I may be able to obtain any records pertaining to him during that time, because the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Little Rock was unable to locate a record for him. Also, his daughter died approximately 1900 or afterwards in Augusta and I would like to find out what she may have died from at an early age. Some family said that they believe she died from a fever. Was there a fever in Arkansas during the early 1900's, that many people may have died? I am also trying desperately to locate any funeral homes during the early 1900's that I may be able to contact to help me as well, but I need the names of! the funeral homes that were in business during that time. Thank you, Clara
