It is about the history of the county and history of the families who have lived and died here. On November 5, 2003 I published a Tribute to the Woodruff County War Vets which was the largest publication on Woodruff County War Vets ever published in a newspaper that I know of. I had John P. Looney, born August 1, 1887 and died October 2, 1956. Tom Looney, born 1893 and died 1963 and both served in WW I and both are buried in the Augusta Memorial Park Cemetery. I regards to your Joseph Allen "Pappa" Looney, he was born June 29, 1874 and died July 8, 1929. His wife, Ida Ann was born January 1, 1876 and died November 29, 1964. Both are buried in Woodman of The World Cemetery, orignal plat, block 1. This cemetery is located on Highway No. 145, three miles southeast of McCrory, Woodruff Co., AR. Hope this helps you.
