Matlock and Mary Jane Floyd, brought the clan to Woodruff Co., Ar. in about 1885. Both are buried in Beards Cemetery. The whole clan shows in the 1880 census for Hardin Co., Tn., where my grandfather was born. My G-grandparents, James DeUtly Matlock and Martha Rosanna Cook (Hance ?), came to Woodruff Co. with the Matlock clan at the same time, or a year later. They are both buried in the Woodman Cemetery. My Grandfather, John Allen Matlock was born in Hardin Co., Tn. and came to Woodruff Co., with his parents, when he was 12 years old. He married my grandmother, Martha Lavada McCarver in Woodruff Co. John Allen Matlock is buried in Stoddard Co., Mo. (There is a family story that goes in here.) My father, John Morris Matlock, was born in Woodruff Co. and married my mother in Mississippi Co., Ar. in 1932. Both are buried in the Augusta Memorial Park, Augusta, Woodruff Co., Ar. You met my only living relative Elvin Matlock, at the Matlock/Fowler reunion, now living in Woodruff Co. He is now 84 years old and lives at Patterson. Thanks for the reply, John M. Matlock
