    3. THE ONLY FAMILY I FOUND THAT MIGHT BE YOURS IS IN 1870 IN HARDIN COUNTY, TN. HERE IS THE LISTING: DO ANY OF THE SIBLINGS' NAMES RING A BELL. BY THE WAY, SINCE YOU MENTIONED A BLACK CEMETERY IN ARK I TOOK THAT TO MEAN THE KASEY/CASEY FAMILY WAS AFRICAN AMERICAN. THE FAMILY BELOW IS BLACK. HOPE I DIDNT MISINTERPRET YOUR MESSAGE. Kasey, David - 49 Narcissus, 34 Hannah, 15 Alvin, 14 Jhn L., 12 ALEN H, 10 Phillis, 9 Marandia, 30 Daniel L Celesta Ardina E. 3/12 WHAT STATE AND COUNTY DID YOU FIND THE CASEY/KASEY FAMILIES IN 1900-1930. (Mack) Houston Casey was my grandfather, he died in 1971, and was buried on the Casey farm in the family cemetery. His wife Lillian Baskin Casey died in 1973 and was buried alongside him. I attened both funerals as a teenager. There is also another black cemetery on the same road (Casey Road) less than a 1/4 mile, it was called Lake Grove cemetery for the Casey Settlement. When I was a child I used to walk over to it and look at the very old grave stones. What I am looking for are ANY clues where the folks from the Casey settlement came from. According to the census records all of the families I knew in the settlement (Pulces, Green, 2 Casey families, Dempsey, Blake, Holiday, etc.) all arrived from TN between 1890 and 1900 1900 cencus, pages 14 & 15 for Caney Twp). All of these families were married couples with children, all of the parents' origin is listed as TN in the census. My great Grandfather was Allen Houston Casey, born Oct.1857 somewhere in TN. His wife Keziah B. Hays (married 1888/1889)was born June 1860, also in TN. Mack Houston was born Feb 1886 in TN. The place of birth of their first 2 children was TN !884 & 1886). The next 4 are listed as being born in Arkansas. This family is listed on page 20 of the same census report. By 1910 census, Allen Houston Casey had remarried Hettie. L. Casey. She appears on the 1910, 1920, and 1930 census reports. In 1920, she is listed as 42 years old & widowed. To my way of thinking there must have been a migration from somewhere in TN, otherwise it is very odd that the entire settlement suddenly sprang up with 50-70 people all from the same state. The only other information I have is that some of my great grandfathers land was a land grant. I have not been able to find those records, however the property taxes are still addresed to him. ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
