    1. RE: Research in Woodruff County

    3. My family surname of interest is Leetch. They paid taxes in Woodruff mostly in Cotton Plant during the 1870's Great grandfather disappears in the late 1870's from the Tax rolls. In 1880 both he and his wife are gone and the eldest son is HOH. They stayed there for at least another year or two and then moved to Texas. I have two letters written from young women to one of the younger daughters of Mr. Leetch. SO, I know James and Sarah "Fannie" are buried in Woodruff and most likely in or near Cotton Plant. But, they may well be in unmarked graves. Since no one that I know of stayed in Woodruff there is likely no family histories, but the off chance of a gravestone peaked my interest. I also doubt that there would be guardian ship but again there might be as my grandmother would have been under 10 years of age. If you would like the contents of the two letters I will send it to you. There are gaps in it s the hand-writing is hard to read and a lot of misspelled words but there are some names that might help someone. -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com [mailto:gc-gateway@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of wgt@centurytel.net Sent: Sunday, October 05, 2003 12:23 PM To: ARWOODRU-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: Research in Woodruff County This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. 3. The man's name was WILLIAM LEETCH, not James. James was his father who died in Maury Co in 1835. -----Original Message----- From: Ann Hill [mailto:annh2@ev1.net] Sent: Sunday, October 05, 2003 11:03 PM To: ARWOODRU-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: Research in Woodruff County My family surname of interest is Leetch.
