Actually, you have been more help than you realize. I had aside the search a few months ago after immense frustrations. But when I got your note, I started checking again and found updated census records for 1870! Guess what!?! I found Mack Houston's grandfather! -- and theor location in TN. I am still looking for records for the other people from the settlement to see if they all migrated together. Looks like the Casey's came 200 miles due West to settle outside of Cotton Plant. I would love to finish piecing together this mystery while I can still remember the faces and voice of those from Mack's generation. Some of my father's generation are still livng but in their 90's. My father did know know as much of the family history as I have been able to re-construct and it really seems to bring him joy whenever I tell him what I have been able to find.
