Their ancestors were from Donegal Derry, Ireland. I have James J. Roddy, born 1680 in Donegal Derry, Ireland, married Mary Unknown, and James died 1734 in Lancaster Co., VA. They were the parents of five known children: (1) Prudence, born 1710, died 1785: (2) Alexander Sr., 1727-1786, married Mary Cander, born 1727 in Chester Co., PA and died about 1786 in Spartansburg, N.
