Catherine Burns parents (Richard Burns and Sarah Essex moved to Carroll County TN in around 1831 from Halifax County Virginia. William Andrew Crossett (b 1823) was the son of William K. Crossett and Margaret Crossett who came to TN from SC around 1828. William K. Crossett was born in Ireland, so he must have immigrated after 1790. His father may may have also been a William since there were two William Crossetts on the 1820 SC census - one was listed as Sr.
