Part 1 James Murray was born April 20, 1791 and was a Tennesseean. He served in the War of 1812, under General John Coffee, enlisting in Middle, Tennessee. He was first married, 1817 in Middle, TN, to Frances A. Wilkes, born February 3, 1795. They removed to Hardeman County in the early 1830's. They settled in the northwestern portion of the County. Frances died August 2, 1838 in Hardeman Co., TN. They were the parents of eight known children which are listed with their families.; Part 2 will be published January 19, 2005 After the death of his first wife, Frances A. (Wilkes) Murray. James married, 1837 in Hardeman Co., TN, Eliza Brazeale, born January 04, 1820. About 1845 James and Eliza Murray came to the State of Arkansas, settling in Woodruff County, and resided here until their respective deaths. They had nine children which are listed with their families. This is a great story, full of genealogy information on the Murray family, their ancestors and desendants.
