    1. Re: your research of families
    2. Gary, I am not sure whether I ever asked you, but did you have anything on Short family who were in White Co, and then into Woodruff Co. My Short family starts out in 1870 White Co, Clay Township. A. She went to California with a soldier and left the girls in a small (very small) trailer on the Cache River. This information was given to me in 1978 by Lucille Miller who was acquainted with the Short family. Her father bought some land from my grandfather. She lived at Revels at that time. My grandfather is listed in the Woodruff Co Rivers and Roads in Between as a student in 1907 McCrory School I was hoping you might have some information on these families. My other family I am researching is Margaret Garrett (widowed) married to Samuel Stephenson. They are listed in 1880 Woodruff Co Augusta Twsp. For Almontine I first find her in 1860 Lafayette Co with husband Biven B Short. Don't know what happens to him after that. Between 1870 and 1880 Almontine married and divorced Lemuel Byrd. Almontine and Biven were married 1847 Heard Co GA. The marriage records were lost in a fire so don't have a copy. Do not know her maiden name. Children were born in Randolph Co Alabama before moving onto Union Co Ar then to Lafayette and then to White Co. You state you research the families. Are you connected to any of the families or is it just a hobby of yours. Thanks for any info you might have. Deborah Magnolia TX
